OUR MISSION AT BOOKMRKT IS TO PROVIDE BRICK AND MORTAR BOOKSELLERS AN E-COMMERCE PLATFORM THAT ALLOWS THEM TO SELL THEIR INVENTORY LOCALLY AND GLOBALLY TO NEW AND EXISTING CUSTOMERS IN THE MOST COST EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT MANNER. WE SEEK TO SUPPORT BRICK AND MORTAR OPERATIONS AND ALLOW THEM TO MAINTAIN THEIR FOCUS ON WHAT THEY DO BEST, SELLING BOOKS AND PROVIDING INVITING SPACES FOR THEIR COMMUNITIES TO GATHER.
Bookmrkt charges a flat 1% fee on all sales. This pays for our continued development and upkeep of our marketplace. After the credit card processors take their cut, the rest of the sale goes directly to the vendor the product is purchased from. this allows for our vendors to get their money directly instead of being paid a couple times a month or once every 6 months.
once the order has been placed, the rest of the process is entirely up to the vendor of sale to fulfull. All post sale customer interaction is the responsibility of the vendor.
an order placed through bookmrkt relies on in-store/warehouse staff hired by each independent vendor to fulfill orders and provide customer support. bookmrkt sales help support local businesses and economies by making sure that dollars and jobs stay within the vendors operations. other marketplaces utilize 3rd party fulfillment centers touting the efficiency of on-shoring these jobs to a handful of distribution centers.
We prefer to find our efficiency in our systems integrations, which allows Bookmrkt to support local economies across the country, specifically within the communities of our vendors.
